A/Prof Nigel Hope

A/Prof Hope specialises in minimally invasive knee surgery, hip surgery, and sports medicine.After graduating with an MBBS from the University of Sydney, A/Professor Hope completed his PhD on the composition and repair mechanisms of the knee joint meniscus in 1994. After finishing his Orthopaedic Specialist qualifications in 2000, he undertook advanced surgical training in France and Switzerland for the direct anterior approach to hip surgery and became one of the pioneering surgeons in Australia to perform the operation.
A/Prof Hope has written for international publications on the knee joint meniscus; he has been invited to speak at numerous research conferences and workshops globally.Currently, A/Prof Hope regularly presents lectures at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney.In a recent scientific publication, A/Prof Hope examined the outcomes of minimally invasive hip fracture fixation.His current research projects include gender differences in knee injuries, an extensive study on the results of minimally invasive hip replacement, assessment of knee arthroscopy without tourniquet, and a review of patient specific knee replacement techniques.A/Prof Hope sees patients at both his CBD rooms in mi-Clinic and the Sydney Adventist Hospital in Wahroonga.
